How to write to Field Music Notes, what to send with a correction, and the questions this desk cannot answer.

The desk reads its mail at contact@southern-horizon.com. Write in English and put the reference of the piece in the subject line if your message is about an existing one, for example SG-002 or RC-001.
A correction
Send the address of the piece, the sentence you believe is wrong, and the source that settles it. A printed songbook, an instruction book of the period, a catalogue entry from a library or museum, a published history or an extant recording is enough. A forum post, a shop listing or a video without a source is not, because none of them can be checked against a fixed text.
A piece that is corrected is republished with a new checked-on date. The correction is not hidden: the sentence is rewritten, the source is added to the reading notes, and the date moves.
A question
The desk answers questions about how a song was printed, how an instrument of the period was made, tuned or carried, how a band of the period was organised, and how period music can be recorded or documented today.
What the desk cannot answer
It cannot say what a private collection holds, what a museum will accept as a gift, or what a recording is worth at auction. Those answers belong to the institution or the appraiser, and the desk will name the kind of institution that can answer rather than guess at the number.
